This late variety from Savoy has a 15 cm long sheath of leaves. The blue-green foliage, very robust nature, and ability to survive extreme cold make this variety suitable for every gardener. It is especially suited for growing in exposed locations and mountainous regions. Whether or not you have a green thumb, Bleu de Solaise will give you a yield.
Sow during March in a hotbed for early leeks. For later leeks, sow in early April. Transplant early to mid-June at a distance of 30 ✕ 20 cm apart in 10 cm deep furrows. Hill in the fall time. Harvest late fall until May.
