Growing instructions

Climate and Soil Requirements

The Cornflower thrives in temperate climates with a preference for full sun exposure. Make sure to provide it with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. As for the soil, this plant prefers well-draining and fertile soil. Amend with compost if necessary.

Sowing Cornflower

Cornflowers can be sown in the spring or autumn. We recommend sowing in the autumn to obtain sturdier plants. Prepare the soil by carefully weeding and leveling it. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil and lightly cover them with earth. Sowing can be done in rows or by broadcasting. Keep the soil moist until germination, which usually takes 10 to 20 days.

Care during cultivation

Once the plants have reached a height of about 5 cm, thin them out slightly to improve plant growth. Water regularly to keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid excessive water, which could cause root rot. Mulch around the plants to retain soil moisture and reduce weed growth.
