The Long Blood Red carrot is an early and hardy variety with a 20 cm long root. Its purple skin covers a very aromatic orange-red flesh that retains its color even after cooking. This traditional variety is both tasty and attractive.
First sowings from March and following sowings until the beginning of July. Sow in rows 30 cm apart. From July onwards cover with a protective net (Filbio) against carrot fly. Avoid fresh compost. Carrots like to be near onions.
