This local variety from Isérables (VS) is one of the most flavourful dry beans. It retains its beautiful light beige color and its roughly oval shape while cooking. It not only makes your recipes taste great, but makes them look amazing too. This bean is grown specifically to harvest as a dry bean and not as a pod such as green beans.
Sow from mid-May to early June at a distance of at least 60 cm and not any less. Sow about 4 seeds in a circle at a depth of 2 cm. As they say, “Beans must hear the bells ringing.” Place a 2.5 m stake in the center of the circle for the tendrils to climb. Isérables responds well to ample compost and watering as needed. Harvest the dry pods then thrash and separate the beans from the chaff.
