Fresh salad can be had by Easter thanks to this winter lattughino! With its curly, reddish leaves it is one of the tastiest varieties. As an old heirloom variety, this lettuce variety is worth preserving in the garden. When planted with enough spacing, it develops a small loose head, but can be enjoyed cut as leaf lettuce too.
Sow in September directly into the garden bed. Alternatively, you can transplant seedlings in October at a distance of 20 ✕ 20 cm. Slight protection in winter using fleece or plastic is recommended.
