In the past, Venus mirror grew prolifically in corn fields. Today, it has become very rare due to herbicide use. It is a pity, because the plant is very delicate. Not only by name—Venus, but also with its dark purple flowers, it shows a strong relation to women and the women’s movement. Women should plant this flower more often. Height reaches up to 20 cm.
Sow in autumn or March–April by broadcasting seeds into the field. Venus mirror thrives in open, sunny locations. No compost is necessary. Sow with poppy and cornflower.
