The 'Bronze' fennel is a very easy to grow perennial aromatic and decorative plant. Its beautiful coppery-brown foliage with a sweet, aniseed flavour is perfect for salads and fish dishes. The seeds can be used as a condiment or in herbal tea. It will also look good in your flower beds. The foliage falls off in winter, but the young shoots start to take root again in early spring.
Sow from March to May in rows 40 cm apart. Thin out young shoots to approx. 30 cm. Sowing also possible in trays. Harvest the seeds from September: As soon as the seeds are green/brown, cut off whole umbels and hang them up to dry. Rub with hands to squeeze out the seeds and separate them from the stems with a sieve. Store in a cool and dry place. Height: 180 cm.
